Dr Daneeja Mawren has a PhD in Physical Oceanography from the University of Cape Town. Her main areas of expertise include extreme events (such as tropical cyclones and marine heatwaves) and their impacts, climate change assessment, and modelling (regional ocean, atmosphere and hydrology). Dr Mawren's work aims at mitigating the impacts of weather and climate-related disasters in vulnerable coastal zones.
Prof Chris Reason has over 30 years of experience in the field of environmental modelling (ocean, atmosphere and land applications), climate change impacts, extreme events and applications to industry.
